Devotional: Bold In The Gospel

5-Day Devotional: Bold in the Gospel

Day 1: Choosing the Better Part

Reading: Luke 10:38-42

Devotional: In the busyness of serving God, we can forget the most important thing: sitting at His feet. Martha's distraction wasn't sinful—she was serving Jesus—but Mary chose what was better. Our relationship with Christ must take first place above all our religious activities. Before we can boldly share the gospel with others, we must first spend time listening to Jesus ourselves. The world needs Christians who know their Savior intimately, not just those who work for Him frantically. Today, evaluate your priorities. Are you so busy serving that you've neglected simply being with Him? Make time to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to His Word. From that place of intimacy flows the power and confidence to share His message with a lost world.

Day 2: The Power of the Gospel

Reading: Romans 1:14-17

Devotional: Paul declared he was not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God unto salvation. This wasn't mere religious optimism—Paul knew the gospel's transformative power firsthand. He had witnessed it change murderers into missionaries, sinners into saints, and the hopeless into the hopeful. The gospel isn't just good advice; it's good news with supernatural power. When we understand what the gospel truly accomplishes—redemption, forgiveness, justification, sanctification, and glorification—we gain confidence to share it. You don't need eloquent words or theological degrees. You simply need to know that the message itself carries divine power. The gospel changes eternal destinies. Today, remember: your responsibility is to share the message; the Holy Spirit's responsibility is to do the saving work

Reading: Day 3: Entrusted with Truth Corinthians 15:1-4

Devotional: Paul delivered what he had received: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. This simple message is the foundation of our faith and our obligation to share. The moment you accepted Christ, you were entrusted with the most important truth in the universe. You became a steward of the gospel, accountable to God for how you handle it. This isn't about being a professional minister—it's about being faithful with what you've been given. Every believer has a testimony, a story of transformation from darkness to light. That story, combined with the simple gospel message, is all you need to reach others. Don't let fear of inadequacy silence you. You know enough to tell someone about Jesus

Day 4: No Spirit Of Fear

Reading: 2 Timothy 1:7-12

Devotional: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear is often what keeps believers from sharing their faith—fear of rejection, fear of not knowing enough, fear of saying the wrong thing. But this fear doesn't come from God. He has equipped you with His Spirit, who provides power to speak, love for the lost, and wisdom for each conversation. Paul suffered tremendously for the gospel—beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked—yet he never stopped preaching. His boldness came from knowing the gospel's power and his obligation to share it. Today, identify what fears keep you silent about your faith. Surrender those fears to God and ask Him for boldness. Remember, your job is simply to plant seeds; God brings the harvest.

Day 5: Whosoever Will May Come

Reading: John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:8-9

Devotional: The beauty of the gospel is its availability to everyone—whosoever believes. Salvation isn't earned through good works or religious performance; it's received as a free gift through faith in Christ alone. This is what makes Christianity unique among all world religions. We have nothing to boast about except the grace of God. Around you are people desperately searching for something they can't name—purpose, peace, forgiveness, hope. You have the answer they need: Jesus Christ. They need to hear that God loves them, that Christ died for their sins, and that salvation is available right now through faith. Don't hide this treasure. Share your testimony. Hand out a gospel tract. Invite someone to church. Be bold in proclaiming that Jesus saves, transforms, and gives eternal life to all who believe.
As you complete this devotional plan, ask God to give you both a deeper intimacy with Him and a bolder witness for Him. May you be like Mary—sitting at His feet—and like Paul—proclaiming His gospel to everyone you meet.
