Devotional: What Does God Think of Us?

5-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional Guide
Based on the Themes of God's Love, Salvation, Faith, Hope, and Divine Presence

Day 1: The Condition We Were In Reading: Titus 3:1-3

Devotional: Before grace found us, we were not simply imperfect -- we were lost in a pattern of foolishness, deception, and self-serving rebellion. Paul does not soften this reality. He names it plainly so that we never forget what we were rescued from. Remembering our former condition is not meant to shame us but to deepen our gratitude. When we understand the depth of the pit from which we were lifted, the grace that pulled us out becomes all the more breathtaking.
Spend time today reflecting honestly on where you were before Christ, and let that remembrance fuel your worship.

Day 2: But God Reading: Titus 3:4-5; Romans 5:8

Devotional: Two of the most powerful words in all of Scripture are "but God." In spite of everything described in yesterday's reading -- the malice, the envy, the hateful living -- God chose to act. He did not wait for us to clean ourselves up. He did not require us to earn His attention. Romans 5:8 tells us that while we were still in that condition, Christ died for us. Salvation was never about our worthiness. It was always about His mercy. Today, resist the temptation to measure God's love by your performance. His love was settled at the cross long before you took your first breath.

Day 3: Justified and Made New Reading: Titus 3:5-7; 2 Corinthians 5:21

Devotional: Justification is more than forgiveness -- it is a complete legal declaration that your record before God is clean. Not reduced. Not partially cleared. Expunged. God looks at the believer and sees the righteousness of Christ. Second Corinthians 5:21 describes the stunning exchange that made this possible: Christ, who knew no sin, was made sin on our behalf so that we could be clothed in the righteousness of God. This is not a feeling. It is a fact grounded in what Christ accomplished. When your heart accuses you today, return to this truth: in Christ, there is no case against you.

Day 4: The Privilege of the Redeemed Reading: Hebrews 13:5; Philippians 4:19;
Hebrews 4:15

Devotional: Being an heir of God means that the privileges of salvation are not reserved only for eternity -- they are available right now. God has promised to never leave you. He has promised to supply every need. He has promised that in Jesus, you have a High Priest who fully understands your suffering, your temptation, and your weakness. You are not walking through life alone or without provision. You are walking as a child of the King, with every resource of heaven backing you. Today, identify one area of your life where you have forgotten this privilege, and deliberately bring it before the Lord in prayer.

Day 5: Saved to Serve Reading: Titus 3:8; Ephesians 2:10

Devotional:
God did not save you merely to keep you out of hell. He saved you with a purpose already in mind. Ephesians 2:10 declares that you are His workmanship -- a word that carries the idea of a masterpiece -- created in Christ Jesus for good works that He prepared in advance. Your testimony, the way you treat others, the kindness you extend, the patience you show -- all of it is a witness in the hands of God. You do not have to be a theologian or a preacher to be used by Him. You simply have to be willing. Today, ask God to show you one specific way He wants to work through your life this week.
